Obituary of John W. Kravarik

John (Jack) William Kravarik, 94, of Brookfield, CT, passed away on February 4, 2022 at Danbury Hospital with loving family by his side.

John was born in Norwalk, CT to the late John and Alice (Anderson) Kravarik on September 10, 1927.  He attended Norwalk schools. John began his career in the electronics manufacturing field and in his later years worked in the field again. In mid-life he began a new career in the home construction industry, where he was a builder and also a salesperson. At the height of his career, he was a top salesperson for Hilton Lifetime Homes.  He “retired” from Eaton Corporation but loved working, so even after retirement age; he worked in the electronics field as an independent contractor. He loved spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren. He loved solving the daily Jumble Puzzles from the newspaper.  He said it kept his brain working!

Up until he had a stroke two years ago, he enjoyed working on his cherished antique cars every day. He loved attending car shows and participated in a local auto club, too.

John is survived by his children, Terry Carloni, Thomas (Leila) Kravarik, Linda (Larry) Cyr and William J. Kravarik, who was also his main caretaker for the past two years. He is also survived by his brothers Frank and George Kravarik; his grandchildren, Kellie Kravarik, Laurel Cyr, Melissa Lopes, Shawn Shelley, Cassandra Kravarik-Bravo and Aaron Kravarik; 9 great-grandchildren, several sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. His brother Lawrence passed away shortly after John did.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Philomena (Phillis) M. Kravarik, parents John and Alice (Anderson) Kravarik, sister Doris Kravarik Good Stierwalt, brothers Wallace and James (Bobby) and his grandson Kevin Kravarik Hamilton.  His beloved dog and faithful companion, Fluffy, also passed away shortly before him.
