Obituary of Aurelia Mae Donofrio

Danbury – Mrs. Aurelia Mae (Tierney) Donofrio, age 95, of Danbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 5,2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Charles Francis Donofrio.

Mrs. Donofrio was born March 25,1926 in Danbury daughter of the late Vincent and Aurelia (Paquette) Tierney. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and her flower gardens. One of her most treasured memories was vacationing in Maine, going to Pemaquid Point, Searching for sea glass. Most of all being surrounded by all of us.

Mrs. Donofrio is survived by her children: Charles Donofrio and his wife Caryn of Danbury, Rosalie Donofrio and her husband Billy of Bethel, Beverly Urban and her husband Greg of Amsterdam, NY, Vincent Donofrio of Danbury, Carrie Donofrio-Romano and her partner Debbie of Bethel and Sheri Gillotte and her husband Darryl of Winchester Center, 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 10,2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home 247 White St. Danbury is in charge of arrangements.
