Obituary of Paula Krizan Scozzafava

Danbury – Mrs. Paula (Krizan) Scozzafava, age 89, of Danbury passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the Glen Hill Center in Danbury. She was the wife of John Scozzafava.

Mrs. Scozzafava was born August 14, 1932 in Danbury, daughter of the late John and Anna (Simek) Krizan. She retired after working for many years as a Registered Nurse at Danbury Hospital. She was a lifelong active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Danbury. Paula was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed talking on the phone daily with her sisters and friends.

In addition to her husband John, Mrs. Scozzafava is survived by her children: Michael Lombardi and his fiance Meg Morrell of East Haddam, Alan Lombardi of Danbury, Gregg Lombardi and his wife Jill of Unionville, Cindy Hawley and her husband Gary of Danbury, Craig Lombardi of Danbury, and Missy Russell and her husband Todd of Danbury, her step sons: Joe Scozzafava of Danbury and John Scozzafava and his wife Carol of Florida. She was very proud of their 29 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Daniel Krizan of New Milford and Emil Krizan of Stepney, her daughter in law: Tracy Lombardi of Bethel, her sister in law: Marie Krizan of Danbury and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son: A.J. Lombardi, and her siblings: John, Anna, Martin, Stephen, Paul, Sam, George and Betty Krizan, Cris Musgrave and Sue Henderson.

Private funeral services and burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Danbury will be held at the convenience of the family. The Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Paula's family would like to thank the entire staff of Glen Hill for the exceptional care that they provided.
