Obituary of Myrtle E. Lammie

Mrs. Myrtle E. Lammie, 77, of Danbury, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Waterbury on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Myrtle was born on May 8, 1943 in Jamaica to the late Harry and Edith Lammie. She was married to the late Alfred Coombs of Jamaica.

Myrtle Lammie was born in St Andrews, Jamaica, here she attended basic school through all ages in Mt James. Myrtle worked as a domestic helper. Myrtle was married to the late Alfred Coombs of Jamaica. She migrated to the United States in 1985. Upon arriving in the states she worked at Boehringer Ingelheim and Marshalls in Danbury and retired in 2010. Myrtle enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, spending time with her family, and traveling. Myrtle was a quiet, humble, caring, loving, and hardworking person. Myrtle was a member of Brookfield First Church. She loved attending church where she enjoyed praising the lord and singing.

She is predeceased by her parents Edith and Lawrence; three brothers Stanley, Harbie, Eric; Sister, Jell; daughter, Pleasant.

Myrtle leaves to cherish her memory four brothers, George, Burnell, Dennis and Donald; Her children Evette, Courtney, Lorainne, Benreace, Sanete, and Darrell; 22 Grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Three sisters -in-laws Blossom, Sonia, and Sandra. One Daughter-in-law Jean. Three Son-in-laws; Barry, Rohan, and Derick. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday April 9, 2021 at First Assemblies of God, 133 Junction Rd., Brookfield.  Burial to follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday April 8, 2021 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.  Please follow Covid-19 regulations of wearing a mask and social distancing when in attendance of services.
