Obituary of Ruth C. Pacific

Ruth Clayton (Goldsmith) Pacific age 91 passed away peacefully on July 21, 2019        at Danbury Regional Hospice with family by her side.  Ruth was born on April 2, 1928 in Ansonia, CT daughter of the late Raymond and Ella (Reeves) Goldsmith.   Memories of her will be cherished by her seven sons, Peter (Jan) of Lebanon, Eugene (Cheryl) of Bethel, Edward of Danbury, Louis of Danbury, Raymond (Pat) of New Milford, Joseph (Debbie) of Danbury, Andrew of Danbury, her five daughters, Vicky Breece (Leon) of Danbury, Cindy Mosley (George) of Virginia Beach, Jennie Bracco (Tony) of Danbury, Rose Coladarci (Steve) of Danbury, and Tina (Antonio) of New Milford, Son-in-Law Kenny Nelson of Danbury and 37 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elsie Pacific of Danbury as well as several nieces and nephews.  Ruth was predeceased by her husband Michael, son Michael, daughters Mary Lou and Angelina, sisters Faye, Edith and Helen and brothers Walter, Raymond and David.

Religion was important to Ruth and she worked tirelessly to provide a Catholic education for all of her children.  Throughout the years, she worked at a variety of locations including Lee Hat Factory, Benrus, Davis and Geck and National Semiconductor. She was a dedicated mother and loved spending time with her many grandchildren. The outdoors was her favorite place to be where she enjoyed gardening and relaxing in the sun.  No one was ever a stranger and she was always ready to help those in need.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Danbury Regional Hospice or the charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will be held at Cornell Funeral home on Thursday, July 25th  from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peters Church, 104 Main Street, on Friday, July 26th at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery.
