Obituary of Hilda Maria Cordeiro

Hilda Maria Cordeiro, 71, of Danbury, beloved wife of Manuel Cordeiro, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  She was born March 27, 1947 in Ponta Delgada, Azores, daughter of the late Francisco and Maria Benevides.

She was an active parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary in Danbury.  Her faith in the Holy Spirit and devotion to the Santo Cristo gave her strength and joy throughout her life.

Hilda will be remembered for her love of singing, her delicious sweet bread and fried dough, and her great sense of humor.

Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was happiest caring for her family.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Manuel, she will be sadly missed by her three children Tony Cordeiro (Carey), Ricky Cordeiro (Jacqueline) and Diana Lopes (Steven), her five grandchildren Zach and Ashleigh Cordeiro, Caleb, Abigail and Jacob Lopes.  She is also survived by her three sisters Isaura, Adriana, and Salome, her sisters-in-law Maria Angelina and Juliet; many nieces and nephews; and her devoted caregiver, Elizabeth.
