Obituary of Bernard Robert Hample
Bernard R. Hample, 84, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Geri (DeFilippo) Hample, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, August 24, 2018. He was born in Yonkers, NY on July 12, 1934, son of the late Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Krasovich) Hample. He graduated from Mercy College with a Bachelor Degree in Financial Accounting in 2000.
Bernie worked for many years as a conductor for Metro North Railroad. His hobbies included golf, wood working, and playing the piano and guitar. His happiest times were spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his cherished wife of 57 years, Geri, he will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Lisa Maniscalco and her husband, George, and Janine Fisher; his grandchildren, Alessandra and Gabriella Maniscalco, Michael, Jacqueline, and Thomas Fisher; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his infant grandson, Brian; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Frances Rohrig.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 28th at 11:30am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Cremation and interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Tuesday morning between the hours of 9:30-10:30am.
