Obituary of Loretta Marie Tangredi
Loretta Marie (DeBonis) Tangredi, 79, died peacefully at home on Thursday August 23, 2018 after a long illness. Loretta was born on May 17, 1939 in Danbury, CT. She was the daughter of Theresa Spano of Danbury and Paul DeBonis of Fondi, Italy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Vincent, who passed away last week on Saturday August 18th. Loretta worked as a bookkeeper at Lew White Appliances in Brookfield for over 30 years. She volunteered as a reading teacher at St. Gregory the Great Elementary School and also volunteered at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury. Mrs. Tangredi is survived by her children, Theresa Tangredi of Williamsburg, Massachusetts, Vincent and David both of Austin, Texas, several nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many friends. Loretta was very active at the Senior Center of Brookfield and a member of the Red Hats. She was the life of any party and loved conversing with anyone she met. She was very generous and full of laughter and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her family wishes to extend its profound thanks to the caregivers and volunteers at Regional Hospice and her personal caregiver, Khanya Goldborough. Friends and relatives can pay their respects to Loretta and Vincent at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Tuesday August 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services for Loretta and Vincent will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday August 29, at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd, Danbury. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Danbury. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation or the Dorothy Day Hospitality House.
