Obituary of Augusto O. Diamantini
Oxford – Mr. Augusto O. ”Augie the Legend” Diamantini, age 83, of Brookfield, died peacefully after a long illness on Thursday August 2, 2018 at the Glen Hill Health Care Center in Danbury. He was the husband of the late Anna Maria (Osimanti) Diamantini.
Mr. Diamantini was born November 14, 1934 in the Village of Roncitelli in Ancona, Italy, son of the late Emilio and Adina (Cimarelli) Diamantini. He was retired after working as a barber for over 40 years at Ralph and Augie’s Barber Shop in Norwalk and was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Brookfield. He enjoyed running, biking and road racing and was a biathlete having participated in many marathons and was a member of the Wolf Pit Running Club.
Mr. Diamantini is survived by his children: Emilio Diamantini of Brookfield, Annunziata Woolfrey of Oxford, his grandchildren: Enzo and Emilio Diamantini of Brookfield and Christopher and Sarah Woolfrey of Oxford and two sisters in Italy. In addition to his wife Anna Maria, Mr. Diamantini was predeceased by a sister.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield is in charge of arrangements.
