Obituary of Mary Lou Carlo

Danbury - Mary Lou (Hastings) Carlo, a long - time resident of Sarasota, Florida and Danbury, Connecticut, passed away peacefully Sunday June 24, 2018 at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in August 1933, Mary Lou was a 1951 graduate of Danbury High School. She retired in 1989 from Barden Corporation before moving to Florida.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Francis B. Carlo, who she married on May 7, 1955. She is survived by her loving children, Robin Shepard and her husband John of Danbury, Pamela Baer and her husband Robert of Darnestown, Maryland and Michael Carlo and his wife Linda of Sarasota, Florida. She was the proud grandmother of Will and Katherine Shepard, Allison and Kenny Baer and Hannah, Peter and Joseph Carlo. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Tomascak and her husband Andrew of Sarasota, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by her Camelot Lakes Community, where she was an active participant in their weekly Bingo night. She loved playing Bingo, Canasta, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Carlo's family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday June 29, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m.  Committal services and burial will be in Sarasota, Florida at the convenience of the family.
