Obituary of Dolores Baldino
Dolores (Tomaino) Baldino, 87 years old, formerly of Danbury, passed away peacefully after a long and enduring illness. With her daughter Antonietta there by her side along with the comfort of a loving family Dolores went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2018.
Dolores was born on August 27, 1930 in Waterbury to parents Anthony A. and Rose V. (Gillotti) Tomaino. She grew up in Danbury and attended St. Joseph School. She was employed by Barden Manufacturer Corp. and moved to New Haven after her marriage to Joseph D. Baldino on September 7, 1957.
Dolores enjoyed motherhood, cooking and caring for her family. She preferred the simple pleasures in life. Especially the company of a constant companion...her little dog Lily, who will truly miss her. Dolores would enjoy talking of her fond childhood memories of spending time with her grandparents, aunts and uncles on the family farm in Southbury. She had a personal devotion to a private life of prayer and would spend many hours in prayer for those in need. She maintained this was her purpose in life. Her commitment to daily prayer for the good of others gave her great peace, strength and encouragement.
Dolores is survived by her two daughters; Antoinetta & Gregory Trudel, and Lisa & Michael Marmitt. She is the proud grandmother of four grandsons; Philip and Clifford Richards, Jason and Jared Marmitt. She is also the great-grandmother of six precious great-grandchildren; Nevaeh, Danica, Alli, Max, Jacob and Joshua. She is survived by her sister Roseanne & Peter Dardis, Godchild Diane Guadagno, and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by her two sisters; Mary Jane Baldino, Palma Tomaino and her brother Anthony Tomaino.
Religious services were on Wednesday April 18, 2018 10 am at St. Mary's Church 26 Dodgingtown Rd. Bethel, followed by a graveside service at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Franciscan Hospice Care in Meriden; especially at Olga who Dolores was very grateful to for all of her care, Dr. Stacey Unsworth of Pro-Health services in Wallingford, and to the excellent nursing staff at Westfield Rehab in Meriden whose kindness and caring will always be remembered.
Memrials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
