Obituary of Carmella "Millie" T. Barbera
Carmella “Millie” Barbera, 99, of Danbury, wife of the late Andrew Barbera, died at St. John Paul Center for Healthcare, on Thursday, April 12, 2018. She joined her daughter, Jo-Anne Mellilo, who died two days prior on Tuesday, April 10th.
Carmella was born in Danbury on December 3,1918, daughter of the late Carmelo and Maria (Ragonesi) Rao. She was a graduate of St. Peter School in Danbury and was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church.
Millie was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning. She was happiest when she could make delicious meals for her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law, Loretta Barbera; her grandchildren, Robert Mellilo, Paul and James Barbera (Nancy), and Laura Gatins (Francis); her great grandchildren, Vanessa Grant, Andrew and Alex Barbera, Christian and Alexis Gatins; and her niece and nephew, Dino and Josephine Potenziani.
She was predeceased by her son, James Barbera.
A Mass of Christian Burial for both Carmella and her daughter, Jo-Anne on Saturday, April 21st at 9:30am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. There are no calling hours.
