Obituary of Adele Marie Gorman
Adele M. (Misley) Gorman, formerly of Yonkers, wife of the late James Gorman, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday. She was born in Yonkers, NY on January 15, 1925, daughter of the late Michael and Ellie (Witecsny) Misley. She was a graduate of Cochran School of Nursing.
Mrs. Gorman was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving as a First Lieutenant with the United States Army as a nurse at an EVAC Hospital in Korea. She was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and the UN Service Medal.
Mrs. Gorman enjoyed volunteering at Christ the King School Library. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, bowling, reading, crossword puzzles and watching game shows. She loved owls, dogs and cats.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, James Gorman and his wife, Annmarie of New Fairfield, and Michael Gorman and his wife, Theresa of Somers, NY; her grandchildren, Erin Albohn (Kevin), Kaitlin (Brian Dunn), Patrick, Meaghan Gorman-Goto (Adam), James, Kathryn, Jonathan, and Marc Gorman; and her great grandchildren, Elliana, and Conor Albohn, Kamden Dunn, and Teigan Goto.
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, March 23rd at 9:45 am. A Graveside service will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
