Obituary of Kenneth Raymond Lyon
Kenneth R. Lyon, 81, of Brookfield, beloved husband of Claire (Truelove) Lyon, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, December 30th. He was born in Bethel on September 2, 1935, son of the late George and Helen (Armour) Lyon and was a graduate of Bethel High School, Class of 1953.
Ken was a Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during peacetime as a radioman. He worked for many years as an electronics technician for Perkin Elmer and was a member of the American Legion.
He was an active member of Walnut Hill Community Church and enjoyed volunteering with the music ministry. Ken had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his cherished wife, Claire, he is survived his daughter, Cynthia Erwin and her husband, Robert; and his three grandchildren, Gabrielle, Elyssa and Annalise. He is also survived by his brother, George Lyon and his wife, Joan; and two sisters, Ruby Schneeberger and her husband, Charles, and Dorothea Went; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Andrea Lyon; and his sister, Marilyn.
Funeral Services will be held at Walnut Hill Community Church on Thursday, January 5th at 11:30am. Burial in Central Cemetery will take place in the spring.
The family will receive friends at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel, on Thursday morning between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Walnut Hill Community Church.
