Obituary of Patricia Mary Walsh

Patricia (“Pat”) Mary Walsh, age 77, of Brookfield, CT, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2016. Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 7, 1939. She is survived by her husband Charles Walsh, and her children Joseph O’Connor and wife Laura of Woodbury; Colleen O’Connor of Sunnyvale, CA; Maureen Bonanno and husband Neil of Greenwich; Matthew O’Connor and wife Meredith of Brookfield; and Patricia Abruzzese and husband Peter of Brooklyn, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicholas, Mia, Dylan, Jack, Julia, Tyler, Shane, William, and Brandon; her stepchildren Colleen Sillifant and husband Ken, Christopher Walsh and wife Jane, Maureen Ryan and husband Michael, Pamela Ballas and partner Ricky, Timothy Walsh and partner Jill, and Michael Walsh and wife Taura; her step-grandchildren Rachele (Eric), Nicole (Peter), Brian, Katie, Kelly, Samantha, Michael, Ryan, Emily, Bridget, and Colin; her step-great-grandchildren Peter and Taylor; her nieces, nephew, and cousins, and her lifelong best friend Rosemary Huszka. She is predeceased by her father and mother William and Bridget Conlon, and brother William. Pat will forever be known as a lover of life. Her strength, faith, love of family, and positivity had a tremendous impact on many people who will miss her dearly. Pat had a passion for singing and music; she was a member of St. Joseph Church Choir, the Sharps & Flats Senior Singers of Brookfield, Silver Tones of Danbury, and the Four Strings of Brookfield. Before her passing, Pat led the Sharps & Flats and held many performances around the area, including local nursing homes and A Taste of Danbury. Pat was always willing to try new things, and loved to go boating and swimming in Candlewood Lake, traveling with her husband, dancing, playing games, and doing puzzles. She loved to laugh, and her laugh was contagious. She could truly brighten any room just by being in it. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 163 Whisconier Road, Brookfield, CT, on Friday, October 7, 2016, at 10:30 am. The family will receive their relatives and friends at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, October 6, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory can be made to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Regional Hospice & Home Care of Danbury at 30 Milestone Road, or your charity of choice.
