Obituary of Florence Jeanette Hroziencik

Florence Hroziencik, 87 of Brookfield, passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas on September 6th. She was born in Greenwich on December 1, 1928. daughter of the late George and Anna (Hurta) Kramer. She graduated from Greenwich High School.
Flo worked in the Radiology Department at Danbury Hospital for 23 ½ years.
Flo was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield. She and her husband John enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Trail Blazers Square Dance Club in Brookfield and later the Mad Hatters Square Dance Club in Danbury. The two were honored by being selected to square dance on a float at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Parade in 1981.
Flo had a passion for knitting and for doing crafts. She also loved to travel, especially to the ocean with its tasty shellfish. While at home she loved to sit in her backyard enjoying the birds, flora, and wild life. She enjoyed country fairs, live music, and theater. She had a strong interest in current events and enjoyed discussing politics. Flo was a “live wire” and enjoyed life.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John A Hroziencik and her sister Elsie Guman. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, John A. Hroziencik of San Diego, CA., and George A. Hroziencik of Highland Park, IL.; her daughter, Sandra Thompson and her husband Robert of Austin, TX.; and her granddaughter Katie Thompson. She is also survived by two nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Brookfield on Tuesday, Sept 13h at 1:00 pm. Burial in Prince of Peace Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday September 12th between the hours of 4 and 7pm.
Memorial Contributions in Flo’s memory may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
