Obituary of Margaret J. Rynn
Margaret (Margie) Rynn, 84, of Brookfield, wife of the late John A. Rynn, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 23rd cared for by her loving family and friends. She was born in Woodside, NY on September 12, 1931, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Fullerton) Quinn.
Margie grew up in Woodside with her sister and four brothers. She and John were married at St. Sebastian’s Church in 1954 and moved to Candlewood Shores in 1958. Margie loved spending time with family & friends at the beach and on Candlewood Lake. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church & School in Brookfield. Margie enjoyed volunteering at the school, participation in the Confraternity of the Rosary and other parish activities. Her priority was family and she loved the home and life she and John built together. She was very proud of her Scottish & Irish heritage, always spoke her mind and taught her family to be strong, caring and loyal. After her children were grown, Margie enjoyed being a “snow bird” in Jensen Beach, Florida. She moved to the Villages at Brookfield Commons in 2014 where she came to know and appreciate the support of new friends.
She will be deeply missed by her four children, Patricia Rynn Sylvester (Mark) of Columbia, MD, Joseph C. Rynn (Andrea), John A. Rynn, Jr. (Rachel Bonacci) all of New Milford, and Kevin Rynn (Maureen) of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Michael Sylvester (Megan), Kate Sylvester Roche (John), Tim Sylvester, and Jack and Peter Rynn; her great granddaughter, Ellie Rose Roche; and step-grandchildren, Deanna and Frankie Carey. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Anna Rynn and Sister Rosemaron Rynn, and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31st at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Western Connecticut Homecare, 4 Liberty Street, Danbury, CT 06810 or the Office of Radio and Television (ORTV), Archdioceses of Hartford, 15 Peach Orchard Road, Prospect, CT 06712-1052. Both organization provided important services for Margie when she became homebound.
