Obituary of Harry J. Gurski

Harry J. Gurski Jr. March 19, 1934 - August 03, 2004 Harry J. Gurski, Jr., 70, lifetime resident of Brookfield, devoted husband of Carol (Neuwirth) Gurski, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, August 3rd, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Danbury on March 19, 1934, son of the late Harry J., Sr., and Mary (Patren) Gurski. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School, Class of 1955. Harry retired as a processing engineer from Barden Corporation, in Danbury, after thirty-nine years of employment. He was an active communicant at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. He enjoyed involvement with the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society and was a member of its Board of Directors as well as membership in the Polish American Citizens Club in Danbury. Harry was a nature lover, active in the American Brittany Rescue Organization and loved his three Brittany Spaniels. He enjoyed camping on the Mohawk Trail and was an avid Red Sox fan. In addition to his cherished wife of 36 years, Carol, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Helen Gurski Lacagnina and her husband Salvatore of New Port Richey, Fla; his niece, April Hilton and one great nephew, Henry Hilton, both of Maine; his father-in-law, Victor Neuwirth, Sr. of Brookfield, and Brother-in-law, Victor Neuwirth, Jr.; and sisters-in-law, Noelle Neuwirth and Jacqueline Currey, all of Maine. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the nurses and staff at Bethel Health Care for their care and compassion for Harry and his family. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, on Tuesday, August 10th at 11:00am. Interment of cremains will follow in St. Paul Episcopal Memorial Garden. The family will welcome friends for a reception at St. Paul Episcopal Church. Calling hours will be held at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, between 10:00 and 11:00am.
