Obituary of Teresa M Gallagher

Teresa M Gallagher November 06, 1964 - January 09, 2011 Teresa M. Gallagher Teresa M. Gallagher - It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected, but peaceful passing of Teresa on Sunday, January 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, after bravely fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Our deepest sorrow is she leaves this world, so young, so beautiful, so smart, so amazing, and with so much more to do, to give, and to share with all of us. She was born in Carmel, NY on November 6, 1964, a cherished daughter of the late John and Joan Gallagher of Brewster, NY. Teresa attended St. Lawrence O'Toole School and graduated from Brewster High School and Albertus Magnus College. She was an Executive Assistant with P&G Duracell R&D in Bethel, CT. Previously, Teresa was with MCI International for over 20 years. Teresa was the inspirational hero to Nelson Lewis, her loving husband and best friend, and she treasured her sisters and their families: Ellen Gallagher of NYC, Peggy & Shay Gavin of Bethel, CT, Ginger & David Corrao of New Fairfield, CT, and Joan & Walter Goold of North Chatham, NY. She dearly loved her wonderful brother, the late Jack Gallagher. Teresa was adored by her beloved mother-in law Salya Rabow, and sisters and brothers-in-law; Julia & Aaron Deitcher, Pamela & David Lifson, and Esther & Steven Guzelimian. Teresa loved and was loved by all of her nieces and nephews: Bob & Katie Gallagher, Matthew, Meghan, & Theresa Corrao, Sean, Aislinn, & Kara Gavin, Hayley & Jack Goold, Jon & Matt Deitcher, Eric & Sammy Lifson, and Elyse Guzelimian. Teresa was proud of, and admired their individual achievements and accomplishments, as she saw them grow in life. Teresa's boundless love of life and animals led her to volunteer many hours at Guiding Eyes for the Blind, and with the New Fairfield Sherman Animal Welfare Society. Tigger's cute, but she loves Gilly Goo. Always compassionate, sweet and loving, Teresa brought joy to those around her. She was an incredibly amazing person, yet did not see it in herself. So she kept doing more, working harder, and giving more of herself. Her extraordinary courage will be our powerful inspiration, her kindness and friendship will never be forgotten, and she will forever be in our hearts. TTFN Funeral Information A wake will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, CT, on Thursday, between 4 pm and 8 pm.
