Vincent Ernano Sr
June 03, 1923 - May 06, 2010
Vincent Ernano, Sr, of Canterbury Court, Brookfield, beloved husband of Loranda "Peggy" (Cerda) Ernano, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, May 6th. He was born in Manhattan, NY on June 3, 1923, son of the late Joseph and Alphonsina (Police) Ernano.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in the Bronx, which is where he and Peggy raised their family. Upon moving to Connecticut, the two were very active volunteers in the Brookfield Community. Vincent especially enjoyed volunteering at the Brookfield Public Library where he repaired many books. He also enjoyed being active in the Brookfield Senior Center activities and the 55 + Club.
In addition to his cherished wife of 65 years, Peggy, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Joseph Ernano and his wife, Sandra of Long Island, and Vincent Ernano, Jr. of California; his two daughters, Virginia Ernano of Virginia, and Diane Lalli and her husband, Peter of New Milford; his seven grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Bianca, Samantha and Ruby Ernano, Andrew and Matthew Lalli; and his five great grandchildren, Amanda, Colin, Kayla, Charles and Frank. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 11th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday evening between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00pm.
