Obituary of Helen Day

Helen Day May 13, 1922 - October 24, 2003 Helen (Jesionowski) Day, 81, of Austin Street, Danbury, wife of the late Julian B. Day, died on Friday, October 24th, at Bethel Health Care Center. She was born in Danbury on May 13, 1922, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Jeduzel) Jesionowski. She attended both Sacred Heart and Danbury High Schools. Mrs. Day was a housekeeper for Western Connecticut State University and retired at the age of 62. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury, and was also a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society. Mrs. Day was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Judith Leo and her husband, Salvatore, of Sherman, Kathleen Wildman and her husband Albert of Danbury, and Sharon Stevens and her husband Craig of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Kimberly Gallagher, Nicole Leo, Josh Wildman, and Matthew, Marcus and Carl Stevens. She is also survived by a brother, John Januski of Danbury, and three sisters Nellie Krisko, Florence Wirag, both of Danbury, and Jennie Nielson of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28th, 10:00am, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Monday, October 27th between the hours of 6:30 and 9pm.
