Clifford E. Cole, 81, of Danbury, beloved husband of Lillian H. (Taylor) Cole, died at Danbury Hospital on Friday, July 22nd. He was born in Bridgeport on February 14, 1930, son of the late George and Margaret (Baldwin) Cole.
Mr. Cole was a Veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Navy on the USS Tawara aircraft carrier, alongside his brother, Albert Cole. He worked for 55 as a carpenter for the Local 927, until merging with Local 210.
He was a member of the Mason Lodge #40, the VFW Post 149, American Legion Post 60, and was a life member of Pastimes A.C. and the Concordia Society where he served as president for more than 25 years.
Mr. Cole was an avid fisherman and clammer in his younger years.
In addition to his cherished wife of 54 ½ years, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, John Cole and his wife, Diana, James Cole and his fiancé Nicole, all of Danbury; his four grandchildren, John Cole, Jr and his wife, Christina, Stephanie, James and Meaghan Cole; as well as four step grandchildren and a great grandchild to be. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lillian Vallely; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Cole. Funeral Information
