Obituary of Evelyn M. Burth

Evelyn M. Burth June 10, 1918 - October 02, 2003 Evelyn M. (Neubauer) Burth of Triangle Street, Danbury, wife of the late Paul G. Burth, passed away at New Milford Nursing Home on October 2nd at the age of 85. She was born in South Ozone Park, New York on June 10, 1918, daughter of the late Charles R. and Katherine (Karl) Neubauer. Mrs. Burth made her home in the community in 1955 and worked as a receptionist and telephone operator for Hoffman Fuel Co. for over thirty years. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church. Mrs. Burth was an avid Scrabble player and loved crossword puzzles. She enjoyed traveling, playing golf, bowling and her many friends and activities in the St. Gregory Parish. Most of all she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always fulfilling the needs of others, whether it be with a kind word and smile or a pot roast dinner. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Anne Marie Shannon of Brookfield, Michael Shannon of Arizona, Greg Shannon of Fort Meyers, Fla; great grandchildren, Lee Ann Pierce and Kenneth Landsiedel, both of Brookfield. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond Neubauer of Norwalk, and son-in-law, Kenneth Shannon of Fort Meyers, Fla; and several niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lillian Shannon in 1998. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church at a date and time to be announced. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations Information Contributions may be made in the memory of Evelyn Burth to the charity of one's choice.
