Obituary of Robert Donald Taylor

Robert Donald Taylor January 04, 1939 - June 27, 2004 Robert Donald Taylor of Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury, husband of 37 years to Jacqueline (Jaquith) Taylor, died in the presence of his family, at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, June 27th. He was born in Danbury on January 4, 1939, son of Florence (Williams) Iapaluccio and the late Robert J. Taylor. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1957. Don was a construction contractor, owning and operating D&M Construction Services, with his son, Kristian. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, having served with the United States Army National Guard. He was also a member of the Porsche Club of America, and the National Home Builders Association. He was a past member of the Danbury Zoning Board of Appeals. Don was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet, gentle man, whose wit and wisdom was appreciated by all who knew him. In his youth he was an avid drag racer and most recently enjoyed racing his Porsche at Lime Rock racetrack. His happiest moments were spent with his family and five grandsons. Besides his mother, Florence, and his loving wife, Jackie, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Robert M. Taylor and his wife, Melissa, of New Fairfield; Kristian Taylor and his wife, Cheryl of Danbury; his five grandsons, Robert Connor, Ryan, and Matthew Taylor of New Fairfield, Joseph and Nicholas Taylor of Danbury. He is also survived by a brother, Michael Iapaluccio of New Fairfield; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Arlyne Jaquith, and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Joseph Iapaluccio. Funeral Information Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass which will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Cottage Street, Danbury on Wednesday, June 30th at 6:30pm Cremation and interment will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
