Lilliana (Nava) Tata,88, of Danbury, wife of the late Rocco Tata, died at Bethel Healthcare on Sunday, July 10th. She was born in San Bernardo DeCollatura Catanzaro, Italy on February 25, 1923, daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia (Gilliotti) Nava.
Lilliana immigrated to the United States when she was 29 and worked for her uncle, Steve Gillotti at his dry cleaning business. She met her late husband, Rocco, here in Danbury and they were married at St. Peter Church. She worked in housekeeping at the Danbury Hospital. Lilliana was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was happiest when spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joanna Tata of Danbury; her son, Manfredo Tata of Danbury; and her two grandchildren, Samantha and Brian Tata and their mother, Linda Tata. She is also survived by her brother, Aldo Nava and his wife Angelina of Canada; her brother-in-law, Ugo Tata; her very dear friend and roommate at Bethel Health Care, Genevieve Scott; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Thursday, July 14th at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, July 13th between the hours of 5 and 8 P.M.
