Mary Magdalene McGinniss Borodenko February 05, 1917 - September 23, 2004 Mary (McGinniss) Borodenko Mary Magdalene (McGinniss) Borodenko, of Richmond Road, Brookfield, wife of the late Carl B. Borodenko, longtime owner/proprietor of the Brookfield Market, died on Thursday, September 23rd at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Brookfield on February 5, 1917, daughter of the late Christopher B. and Mary E. (Barrett) McGinniss. Mrs. Borodenko attended the Iron Works Grammar School, a one room, eight grade, school house, and was a graduate of Danbury High School. She was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. She was a volunteer at Danbury Hospital. Mary loved life and enjoyed her family and the Brookfield Community. She is survived by two nephews, Donald T. McGinniss of Milford and Dr. Kevin T. McGinniss of Brookfield; two grand nieces and two grand nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, James F., Edward F., Charles C., Walter M., and Robert L. McGinniss; and four sisters, Frances A. Jefferson, Kathryn M. Stackowitz, Margaret L., and Helen G. McGinniss. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 28th at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Monday, September 27th between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00pm. Donations Information In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, the Danbury Hospital Development Fund, or a charity of one's choice.
