Mary Evelyn (Burke) Silvestri

Mary Evelyn (Burke) Silvestri, age 77, of Hausmann Road, Danbury died on September 1, 2004 in, Ridgefield after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of the late Albert L. Silvestri, Sr.
Evelyn was born in Norwood, MA on July 17, 1927, a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Julia (Doherty) Burke. Mrs. Silvestri moved to Danbury with her family in 1959. In 1976 Evelyn moved back to Walpole returning to Danbury in 1982. She worked as a bookkeeper for ten years. A golf enthusiast, she was a member of the Richter Park Ladies Golf Club and the Wameegos Golf Club where she served as Treasurer. Evelyn had a keen interest in national politics.
Mrs. Silvestri was a devoted and loving mother who will be missed by her sons: Albert S. Silvestri, Jr. and his wife Maryann; James M. Silvestri and his wife Mary; daughters: Nancy A. Silvestri and her husband Jack Frost; Mary E. Sabbagh and her husband Sam; and Kathy A. Silvestri and her husband Javier Lillo all of Danbury; 12 grandchildren: Al Silvestri, III and his wife Dawn, Andrea Pellicone and her husband Anthony, Muffy (Mary) Silvestri, Julia Silvestri, Mikey Silvestri, Angelo Mariano, and his fiancé Kelly McNiff, Carina Mariano, Rhianon Sabbagh, Samantha Sabbagh, Nicholas Sabbagh, Miguel Lillo, Gabriela Lillo; 2 step grandchildren: Jennifer Frost and her husband Kevin Elbert, and Eric Frost and his wife Christine; 3 great grandchildren: Taylor Silvestri , Anthony Pellicone, and Austin Frost. She is also survived by two brothers: Jeremiah Burke of Indiana and William Burke of Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters: Ann Verrochi and Jane Mackie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 3, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cornell Memorial Funeral Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Donations Information
