Obituary of Caroline F. Schirmer
Caroline Schirmer
March 09, 1919 - October 10, 2010
Caroline F. (Sendewicz) Schirmer, of Danbury, wife of the late Anthony H. Schirmer, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, October 10th. She was born in Brookfield on March 9, 1919, daughter of the late Stanley and Anastasia (Pechaski) Sendewicz.
Mrs. Schirmer was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and worked as a housekeeper in St Joseph's church rectory. She was a member of the Polish American Club and enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed and loved playing cards with her friends and family especially "SKAT." She loved cooking and making meals for her family especially at Christmas and making the homemade "Pierogies" She also enjoyed being the hairdresser for her friends
She will be sadly missed by her son, Robert S. Schirmer and his wife, Sandy of Bethel; her grandchildren, Robert A. Schirmer and his wife, Deanna of New Fairfield, and Lori Schirmer of New Milford; her great grandchildren, Nichole, Jackie, AJ, Bobby, Shane and Erika. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert and his wife, Marge, Stanley and his wife, Kathy, and Donald Sendewicz; her sister, Anna Eriquez and her husband, Frank; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, William and Edward Sendewicz. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 16th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, October 15th between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the nursing staff at Danbury Hospital who took such great care of Caroline. Donations Information
