Obituary of Robert W. Ronnow

Robert W. Ronnow Sr. May 01, 1924 - June 30, 2005 Robert William Ronnow, Sr., age 81 of Danbury died peacefully on Friday June 30, 2005 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Josephine M. (Nicastro) Ronnow. Mr. Ronnow was born in Hoboken, NJ on May 1, 1924, the only child of William and Clara (Lindenstruth) Ronnow. A U.S. Army Veteran, He served his country during WWII and was stationed in the Pacific Theater. He completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University and went on to earn a MBA from the Stevens Institute. He encouraged many boys to enjoy scouting and was very active in the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Ronnow's position as the Director of Marketing Research and Analysis for Union Carbide brought him to Danbury in 1978. He retired 22 years ago. Mr. Ronnow was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Besides his wife of 56 years, he is survived by four sons: Robert W. Ronnow, Jr. and his wife Margaret Oulette of Hancock, MA, David K. Ronnow and his wife, Gay of Lowell, MA, Lawrence R. Ronnow and his wife Deborah of Syracuse, NY, and Mark J. Ronnow and his wife Rose Mary of Trumbull; five grandchildren: Joseph, Christopher, Aaron, Zachary, and Deirdre; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at 10:00 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00.
