Frank J. Panetta, 86, of New Milford, devoted husband of 48 years to Grace (LoPresti) Panetta, died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Friday, July 22nd. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 29, 1924, son of the late Joseph and Vita (Claps) Panetta.
Frank was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving with the United States Marine Corps in the battles of Guadal Canal, Cape Glouster, New Guinea and Pelelui, in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Marine Corps League in Danbury, and the National Marine Corps Association.
He worked as a maintenance engineer for the Danbury Newstimes and retired from Almost Family. He enjoyed making stained glass.
In addition to his wife, Grace, he is survived by two sons living in Florida; his sister, Caroline Wood of Reading, MA; his two nephews, Lester Wood and his wife, Connie, and Kenneth Wood and his wife, Silvia. He is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, July 27th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00am. Donations Information
