Obituary of Richard G. Mesner

Richard G. Mesner III August 19, 1960 - January 10, 2004 Richard G. Mesner, III, of Aldrich Road, New Milford, devoted husband of Lisa (Papp) Mesner, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 10th, at the age of 43. He was born in Washington, DC on August 19, 1960, son of the late Richard G, Jr., and Jeannette (Myers) Mesner. He graduated from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park NY and worked for Chucks Steak House, and was the Head Chef at Stony Hill Inn. Also, he was the co-owner with his wife Lisa of the Downtown Deli in Danbury. Richard was an advertising account executive for the News-Times of Danbury for the past eight years. He was an avid handyman, enjoyed building projects, working with his hands and was an excellent cook. Most importantly Richard was generous with his time, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Besides his cherished wife, Lisa, he will be sadly missed by his sister, Elaine Mesner Gonzalez and her husband Anthony of Middlebury; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Church, New Milford, on Wednesday, January 14th at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, January 13th between the hours of 5 and 8 pm.
