Ellsworth H. Mead Jr.
June 18, 1939 - September 20, 2013
Ellsworth H. Mead, Jr., of Brookfield, husband of the late Deidra (Drone) Mead, died peacefully on Friday, September 20th at his daughter's home in Oakville. He was born in Massachusetts on June 18, 1939, son of the late Ellsworth H. Sr., and Lucille (Poulin) Mead.
He worked for 36 years as a millwright for Mariano Brothers and was a member of the Local Union #210.
Ellsworth enjoyed gardening and building birdhouses. He also loved watching the birds that visited his birdfeeders, or feeding the wild animals that knocked on his door.
He will be sadly missed by his son, David Mead and his wife, Boursy of New Milford; his three daughters, Deborah Newton and her husband, Joseph of NY, Donna Caprio and her husband, Robert of New Milford, and Dawn Mullen and her fiancé, Russell Overton, Jr. of Oakville; his stepson, Lyle Morgan; his thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his four brothers, William, Ernest, Bobby and Ricky Mead, all of Vermont; his four sisters, Betty Mead, Beverly Rockwood, and Maryann Mead, all of Vermont, and Pauline Grotton of New York; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and David Mead; and his stepdaughter, Leslie Gillette. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Sunday, September 22nd at 3:30pm. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00pm. Donations Information
