Ronald H. Mattson October 26, 1933 - September 20, 2012 Ronald H. Mattson Ronald H. Mattson, 78, of Brookfield, loving husband of 55 years to Joan E. (Indrikovic) Mattson died Thursday, September 20th at home. Ronald was born October 26, 1933 in Barre, VT, son of the late Ernest and Laura (Chaloux) Mattson. Ron graduated from Laconia, NH High School in 1951 after high school he went to Becker Jr. College and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Accounting. He had additional courses completed at University of Bridgeport and Western Connecticut University. Upon discharge from the U.S. Army, Ron went to work in accounting for Manning, Maxwell & Moore in Danbury. When Consolidated Controls Corp. was formed in Bethel he became Accounting Supervisor until being promoted to Divisional Controller and Personnel Manager. Ron transferred to Unimation Inc., a subsidiary of Consolidated Control, where he became Controller. After Unimation was acquired by Westinghouse Electric Corp. he became Manager of International Operations and then Manager of Accounting Services. Unimation ceased operation in 1987 at which time Ron joined Fuel Cell Energy, where he worked for 23 years until retiring. He continued to work as a part-time accounting consultant until the present time. Ron was a member of St. Joseph's Church of Brookfield, he was past President and Treasurer for the Brookfield Catholic Men's Club, also a member of the National Association of Accountants, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Brookfield Lions Club, where he received the Lion's Club International Melvin Jones Fellow and Knight of the Blind awards. He was a charter member of the Bethel High School Vocational Advisory Board and was active in the Bethel work study program. He was an avid reader of mystery novels and liked listening to country music, dancing the Polka and Waltzes and was a backyard bird watcher. Ron loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Joan, Ron will missed by his two daughters, Patricia Hartlage and her husband Chris of Tampa, FL and Lisa Paulding and her husband Randy of Schwenksville, PA; four grandchildren, Brian and Tyler Hartlage and Dana and Darcey Paulding; one brother, Dean Mattson of Ft. Wayne, IN as well as several nieces and nephews. Ron is predeceased by his brothers, Carl Mattson and his identical twin brother Donald. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, September 28th at St. Joseph's Church in Brookfield. The family will receive friends between the hours of 4 and 7 PM on Thursday, September 27th at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield.
