JEANNETE H. MANNION
Jeannette Holick Mannion, age 85, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, May 08, 2011. She was the wife of the late Robert Mannion.
Mrs. Mannion was born in Danbury on May 20, 1925, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Seaman) Holick. A graduate of Danbury State Teachers College, she was an elementary school teacher. Her first teaching position was for the Middlebury Board of Education; then she was a substitute teacher for the Danbury Board of Education. Every Saturday night for 20 years she could be found at the Danbury Fair Racearena selling pictures her husband took for the S.N.Y.R.A. She made homemade greeting cards and candy for friends and family. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Jeannette was one of the Mets biggest fans. She also spent many hours sewing Irish Dance costumes and attending Irish Dance competitions with her daughter and the Gray School of Irish Dance.
Mrs. Mannion is survived by a daughter: Colleen Mannion of Danbury; a sister, Eleanor Joudy and her husband Joseph; a brother, Kenneth Holick and his wife, Margie all of Danbury; a brother-in-law, William Ward and his wife, Irene of Woodbury. She was predeceased by 2 brothers and their wives: Robert and Irene Holick and Paul and Jeannette Holick; as well as in-laws James and Dora Ward and several nieces and nephews.
The family would also like to thank John and Sally Lord for their friendship and all of their help in the last several years. Funeral Information
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 12th at 10:00am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 44 Spring St, Danbury. Cremation will be at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Wednesday, May 11th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Donations Information
