Obituary of James A. Loschiavo
James A. Loschiavo
September 17, 1951 - December 22, 2010
James A. Loschiavo, of Danbury, age 59, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 22nd after his courageous battle against brain cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife Susan (Godfrey) and cherished daughter, Sarah.
He was born September 17, 1951 in Bedford Hills New York, the son of Mary and the late Angelo Loschiavo.
Jim graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, Somers NY in 1969, where he was the captain of the Varsity Basketball Team. He was also a graduate of St. Bonaventure University (a forever Bonnies Fan) and received his MBA from the University of Connecticut. He came to Danbury in the 1970's to work at Davis & Geck, where he met his wife Susan. In the early 80's Jim moved to Duracell Inc. where he enjoyed an outstanding career for 28 years.
Jim will always be remembered as a true sports fan, the Yankees and the Bonnies being at the top of his list. There was never a sports event, local or professional, that he would turn down the opportunity to watch. Besides a spectator, Jim was an active participant. He was so proud that he played basketball for over 50 years, ending his career with the Over 40 league at the PAL building. He played softball in local leagues, was an avid skier and never turned down a good golf game. He will be sadly missed by all his sport friends. He was a true friend to anyone who knew him, always giving of himself and never asking for anything in return. He loved to travel, but also enjoyed the simple pleasures of home.
In addition to his loving wife and daughter, he is survived by his mother, Mary Loschiavo of Escondido Ca, his brother, Joseph Loschiavo and his wife Donna of Danbury; his sister Ann Marie Lambillotte and her husband Dave of Carlsbad, CA; and his nephews, Joe Loschiavo and his wife, Laura, and Ben Lambillotte; and his niece, Laura Lambillotte. In addition he is survived by his aunts, Rosemary, Mamie, and Adele; his uncles, Nick and Charlie; as well as many cousins who will always treasure his memory. Funeral Information
