Obituary of Gordon R. Lane

Gordon R. Lane June 10, 1929 - December 27, 2004 Gordon R. Lane, 75, of Grimes Hill Road, Hebron, NY., devoted husband of Faylene (Somers) Lane, died at Glen Falls Hospital on Monday, December 27th. He was born in Danbury on June 10, 1929, son of the late Leroy and Mabel (Durgy) Lane. Mr. Lane worked as a fabricator for Danbury Sheet Metal for more than forty-five years. He was a member of South Granville Congregational Church in Granville, NY. where he served as a Deacon of the church. He was a member of the Hebron Preservation Society and was a beekeeper, selling honey and beekeeping supplies. Mr. Lane was a woodworking handy man offering his talents to his church, community and friends. In addition to his wife of 27 years, Faylene, he is survived by his son Peter T. Lane of Brookfield; his two daughters, Bonnie Gravius of Brookfield and Teri Warnick and her husband, David of Sanborn, NY.; his two stepsons, Raymond A. Sanford, of Palenville, NY., and John D. Sanford and his wife, Kathleen of Va.; his two stepdaughters, Jean M. Roberts and her husband, Richard of Ill., Beverly A. Courtemanche of MA.; and his brother, Harry Lane of Vermont. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Blanche McKay and his brother, Ralph Lane. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, December 30th at 7pm with Reverend Robert Flower of the South Granville Congregational Church officiating. Burial will take place in Laurel Hill Cemetery in the Spring. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home on Thursday evening between 5 and 7 pm.
