Obituary of Jerome S. LaBarbera

Jerome S. LaBarbera August 19, 1930 - August 04, 2004 Jerome S. LaBarbera, 73, of Rita Drive, New Fairfield, devoted husband of Connie (Tomanio) LaBarbera, died in the presence of his family at his home on Wednesday, August 4th. He was born in Danbury on August 19, 1930, son of the late Giralamo and Susan (Pannozzo) LaBarbera, and was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School, Class of 1948. Mr. LaBarbera was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Marine Corps. He retired as Foreman at Novella Construction after twenty-five years of employment. He was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans in Danbury. He loved playing golf and gardening. His most cherished times were spent with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Connie, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Jerome J. LaBarbera and his wife, Holli of Colchester, and Joseph S. LaBarbera of New Fairfield; his daughter, Anna M. O'Rourke and her husband, William of Ridgefield; his cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Morgan and Spencer LaBarbera, Billy and Korey O'Rourke. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph LaBarbera and his wife, Dee of Danbury; his two sisters, Tina Hajj and her husband Bill of Danbury, and Jeanette Voccia of New Fairfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff at Regional Hospice for their tender care. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 9th, 10:00am, at St. Edward the Confessor. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, August 8th between the hours of 4 and 7 pm. Donations Information At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Jerome LaBarbera to the Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street, Danbury, CT. 06810 or to St. Edward the Confessor, Route 39, New Fairfield, CT. 06812.
