Dear Florence and Family
Mom ( Peggy Cain) and I were so sad to hear of the passing of John. Mom said John was always so funny always making them laugh. She holds wonderful memories growing up with him as well as the wonderful times with their families.
I remember his kindness, his smile and our shared love of family history. He was a wonderful man and will be truly missed.
Our deepest sympathies

My Dear Jane, I’m sorry for your loss and send warm heartfelt prayers for you and your family. After reading who your father was in life I feel his legacy is in all of his family and in everyone he knew. I know it is carried in you, my friend. I wish I could give you hugs in person. I hope you can feel my presence surrounding you in hugs, love and compassion. May the emptiness of missing your father be replaced with the lifetime of memories and love you shared. And may you find strength in sharing those memories with your loved ones in the days ahead. All my love, Jane. Your forever friend, Kathryn.

Dearest Jane and Pannell Family,
I only have memories of your father from when I was a very little girl visiting your parent's house. I remember your dad laughing and joking with us and your mom giving us hotdogs (delicious!). All my other memories of your dad are from you telling stories about him, and from those I know what a truly funny and wonderful man he is. The adverbs are confusing, I know he has passed away from here but he is still present in our hearts.
Sending you all my love,
Christina

John spread so much love and laughter far beyond the confines of his family. After Jane moved to San Francisco and would come back East to visit, John would take Florence, Jane and me out to dinner. Those happy dinners full of laughter, stories and affection were wonderful times! John was a great story teller who always told me very colorful stories about his Navy days (and about you too, Florence!) John's kindness, generosity and love touched my family in many ways, including through raising a wonderful daughter Jane, who has been my dear lifelong friend. We will miss John, and wish him well on his journey, and are sending our love to the entire Pannell family.
Love,
John and Char
