Obituary of Jean Frances Kowelski
Jean Frances (Miklaszewski) Kowelski died on October 9, 2017. Jean was born in Dickson City, PA on June 20, 1916, the daughter of the late Zigmund and Mary (Sadowski) Miklaszewski. She was the wife of the late Frank Kowelski.
Jean became a resident of Danbury in 1939. She worked at New England Shirt factory sewing uniforms for soldiers during wartime in the early forties.
Jean was a very devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Mohegan Sun with her daughter and son in law. She loved listening to her polka music. Jean was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Jean is survived by her daughter Faylene and her husband Joseph Tassone. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who lovingly called her Aunt Kitty.
In addition to her husband, Jean was predeceased by her beloved daughter Jeanne, two brothers, Zigmund and Edward and two sisters Blanche and Pearl.
Deepest gratitude to her many caregivers, especially Anita Adams, who was like a grand daughter to her and gave her the utmost exceptional care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10:00 am on Friday, October 13th, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 12 Cottage St., Danbury. Burial to follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12th from 5:00 -8:00 pm at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to: Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 12 Cottage St., Danbury, CT 06810.
