Obituary of Maureen Anne Stewart
Maureen A. Stewart, age 56 of Danbury, died on July 13th at Danbury Hospital.
Maureen was born in Danbury June16, 1961, the daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Marguerite (Ellis) Stewart. A lifelong area resident, she was raised and educated in Brookfield, and was a graduate of the Connecticut Culinary Institute, Hartford, CT. Maureen was employed as a pastry chef with Ross Breads, Ridgefield. She was formerly employed as a chef with Ondine Restaurant, New Fairfield and Helga’s Restaurant, Bethel.
Maureen is survived by her partner of of 25 years, Betty Chmielewski of Danbury, three brothers, Edward Stewart Jr. of Danbury, Dan and Paul Stewart, both of Palm Bay, FL., as well as stepsons Robert and Michael Chmielewski, grandchildren Jake and Miriya Noel, Sara Chmielewski, Jade Bolin and Jordan Erhart, nephew William J. Stewart, niece Laura Rubino, as well as two grandnieces.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday July 20th at 11am in the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to the American Diabetes Association of CT, 2080 Silas Dean Highway 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
