Obituary of Cora M Maynard
Cora "Peggy" Mullin Maynard of Danbury, age 91, passed away Tuesday morning July 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital VITAS Unit in Waterbury. Peggy was born September 14, 1925 in Roxbury to the late Thomas J. and Viola Mathieson Mullin. She was the beloved widow of Harry C. Maynard.
Peggy attended Roxbury schools and worked for over 30 years at Leeds Luggage on Main St. in Danbury. She was a former New Milford resident residing on Candlewood Lake for over 40 years where she hosted many holiday gatherings and was known for her wonderful cooking. Peggy was also an avid Mets fan.
Peggy will be missed by her sister, Kathleen Scanlon of Watertown; sister-in-law Patricia Mullin; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband, Peggy was predeceased by her brother, James Mullin.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday July 15, 2017 at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Burial will be in the Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10am until the time of service.
