Obituary of Robert White

Robert T. White Sr., 75, of New Fairfield passed away Monday June 12, 2017 at Danbury Hospital.  Bob was born in Danbury on January 13, 1942, the son of the late Charles and Barbara White.

Bob graduated from Danbury High School and Henry Abbott Technical School. He was a draftsman for Data Controls and Pitney Bowes Apex, worked in construction for Johnson Construction and later for New Fairfield Auto Body.  For many years Bob served on the New Fairfield Zoning Board of Appeals. He owned and operated White's Fish and Tackle Shop in New Fairfield.  He was an active member of the Danbury Fish and Game Club where he particularly enjoyed the Annual Children's Fishing Derby and other events that supported the community.  He loved auto racing, camping, fishing, boating, golfing and traveling.  Most of all, he loved to spend time with his friends and family. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Ann O'Connor, sons Gregory (Lore), of New Fairfield, Robert (Michele) of New Milford, Stephan Grady of New Fairfield and his grandchildren Evan, Dylan, Lena, Michelle and Christopher.  Bob was predeceased by brothers, Judson, Goeffrey and David, and his first wife Leah.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 16th at St. Edward the Confessor Church at 10:30 AM.  Please meet directly at the church.  Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.  Family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St, Danbury on Thursday June 15th, in the Gold Room between the hours of 4:00 - 7:00 PM.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the Danbury Hospital Critical Care Unit for their extraordinary care of Bob and the compassion they showed us.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children Hospital. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
