Obituary of Gwendolyn Mae Wildman
Gwendolyn M. (Tomlinson) Wildman, 86, of New Milford, beloved wife of Albert H. Wildman, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, April 20th. She was born in Norwalk on March 27, 1931, daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Rahmsdorff) Tomlinson. She was a graduate of Danbury High School. In her younger years she was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Danbury.
Mrs. Wildman worked as an assembler for Risdon Corp, retiring after a 30 year career.
She loved to listen to Country music, especially enjoying concerts during her travels to Branson, MO and Nashville, TN. She also enjoyed flower gardening, and playing the slots at Mohegan Sun and in Atlantic City.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be sadly missed.
In addition to her cherished husband of 68 years, Albert, she will be missed by her children, Albert K Wildman, and his fiancé, Marie Alves, Trevor Wildman, and Ruth Couillard and her husband, James; her four grandchildren, Josh and his wife, Kelly, Kenneth and his wife, Amy, Jeffrey and his wife, Suzanne, and Jenna Couillard; and her six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Woodruff and her husband, Tom; her nephew, Andre Boucher and wife, Kathleen; and her former daughter-in-law, Kathleen Wildman.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Donna Wildman.
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, April 25th at 11:30am, with Rev Dr Joseph Krasinski officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Arthritis Foundation.
