Obituary of Wanda Emond
Wanda Emond (Albini), 92, of Brookfield, died peacefully on April 14, 2017. Born January 29, 1925 in Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of John and Amalia Albini. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerard “Jerry”, her sons Michael and John, and her sister, Linda Smart. She is survived by her daughter Susan Champagne of Brookfield, her daughters in law Susan Emond and Mary Emond, grandchildren Matthew and Jayna Emond, Leah Champagne, and Stacy Surbey and her husband Keith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda also leaves two brothers, Aldo Albini of Cherry Hill, New Jersey and John Albini of Danbury.
Wanda worked as a secretary over the years, retiring from I-95 Radio in Brookfield after working for twenty years as Office Manager. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and, most of all, spending time with her family who will remember her for her warm smile and loving devotion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Calling hours will be on Friday, April 21, from 5 to 7 PM at the Brookfield Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, at St. Joseph’s Church in Brookfield.
