Obituary of Richard W Pflomm
Richard W. Pflomm, age 83, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017 after courageously battling a long illness.
Richard was born and raised in Brookfield by the late Wilhelmina and Heinz Pflomm and became a life-long Brookfield resident and beloved member of the community. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury. As a member of the US Army, a hardworking business owner, and a past member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, he lived his life to make the world a better place for his family, friends, neighbors, and country.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Peet) Pflomm, son Brian Pflomm and his wife Diane of New Milford, and daughter Gail McCallum and her husband William of Danvers, MA. He cherished his four grandchildren, Jason Pflomm and his wife Jennifer, Lisa Borgia and her husband Adriano, Morgan McCallum, and Lindsay McCallum. His great-grandson Andreas Richard was not only his namesake but the light of his life. He was also the beloved brother of Grace Johnson, Dorothy Sullivan, and the late Heinz Pflomm and Barbara Rooney, and he was the admired uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He embodied the power of hard work, the strength of goodness and integrity, and the importance of laughter, and these values will live on in the many lives he touched.
Richard's life will be honored and celebrated at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield on Thursday, April 20th at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Richard's honor to the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 5111, Brookfield, CT 06804-5111.
