Obituary of Corey Michael Lamparelli

This soaring epidemic of drug addiction is taking our precious children away. Our son, Corey, has been struggling with a heroin addiction for some time. Rehab and Halfway Houses have proved it does not work for most. Drugs are still available for those who are not strong enough to say no. After months of sobriety the demons won out, the war was over, and Corey lost his battle. Corey wanted what we all want, a good life, a family and good friends, but it was too hard for him to grasp. Those dreams have vanished. Someone without a conscience or respect for life, is ripping our souls out and breaking our hearts. When is this going to end! How can we, as parents, protect our children from this struggle, and break the chains of this powerful drug infestation that is screaming to take away an innocent life. Lives that have been blinded by euphoria rather than reality. Our tears are angry; our blood runs cold. We will never see the sunshine in Corey’s beautiful green eyes, the laughter we have shared so many times, the love that he had for children and animals for they flocked to him like a magnetic force ready for play. His love of music will be silent, his books unread, his video games not played. His future is gone, but you our dear son will never be forgotten. We have loved you so much but it just wasn’t enough for you. We love you still. Corey Lamparelli, 36, of Bethel, died at his home on Tuesday, April 11th. He was the beloved son of Ret. Detective Joseph Lamparelli of Brookfield and Lin (Cordio) Lamparelli of Danbury. Corey was raised in Brookfield, graduating from Brookfield High School with the Class of 1999. His love of the drums and being in a band brought him to continue his education at The Musicians Institute of Technology in Hollywood CA with a certificate in Sound and Recording. He then started his own business as The Sound Guy, LLC for many years. Corey was a certified Umpire for Cal Ripken League Baseball and an Official for the Triple Double Basketball League. In addition to his parents, Joe and Lin, he will be sadly missed by his brother Chris Lamparelli and his wife Emily Moran; his uncles Ronald Cordio, Rick Lamparelli and his wife Kathy and Anthony Cordio, Jr.; his aunt Patty Warshauer of CA and her husband, Jay; and cousins, Amber and Ashley Lamparelli, Josh, Jesse, Kevin and Jeffrey Warshauer. He is also survived by many extended family members and his mom’s pups who he adored, Riley, Remey and Maggie. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Anthony and Mary Cordio, Patrick and Antoinette Lamparelli; and his Aunt Liz Perrotti. Funeral Services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Saturday, April 22nd at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday between the hours of 10:00am and 1:00pm.
