Obituary of Florence Mary Wirag
Florence “Fudgie” M. Wirag, 89, a lifelong resident of Danbury died on April 11, 2017 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on June 17, 1927. She was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Jesionowski, her husband John H. Wirag, her son in law, Robert Piorkowski and her brother and six sisters. She will be sadly missed by her four children, John H. Wirag and wife Deborah, Patricia Wirag-Piorkowski, Walter Wirag and wife Debra, and Elizabeth Grosse and her husband William and six grandchildren John Spencer Wirag, Jessica Humiston and her husband Jeremy, Wayne Wirag, Amanda Wirag and fiancé Gilciario Pereira, William Grosse Jr. and his wife Samantha and Brian Grosse and nine great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews and brother in law Robert Wirag. Fudgie was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She liked traveling with her family seeing sights around the United States and spending time with her grandchildren. Her fun loving personality will be missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 17th from 5-8pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St, Danbury. A service will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home on Tuesday, April 18th at 10 am, burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery to follow.
