Obituary of Pauline Anne Bankes
Pauline Anne Bankes of Brookfield died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was the devoted wife of Rowland T. Bankes and loving mother of three daughters, Sara, Susie and Elizabeth.
Daughter of the late Edgar and Olga (Griffiths) Trigg, Pauline was born in Quinton, Birmingham, England on February 20, 1941. She was raised in England and, in 1979, moved to the United States to start her life with Rowland.
Pauline had many talents and interests. She dedicated over 20 years of service to a job she loved at Boehringer Ingelheim. Her hobbies included crafting, reading and cooking. In her youth she was an avid tennis player and, as a senior citizen, she enjoyed water aerobics. She was a "true Brit" and had the typical British sense of humor. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her three girls.
In addition to her husband, Rowland, she is survived by her 3 daughters: Sara-Jane Metcalfe of Danbury, Susanne Metcalfe Blackinton of Fairhope, AL, and Elizabeth Anne Bankes Dias of Milford; 5 grandchildren: Dylan, Morgan, Tristan, Finn, Alexander; a sister: Patricia Trigg of England; 2 brothers: Anthony Trigg of California and Roger Trigg of England; as well as many nieces and nephews.
