Obituary of Louise Civitillo

Louise (DiRusso) Civitillo, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Regional Hospice Center for Comfort Care and Healing, Danbury. She was born on November 7, 1921 in the Melrose section of the Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Mary (Aceto) DiRusso. She was introduced to the love of her life Christy by his brother Mike as Christy was too shy to approach her. They were married November 19, 1944. They worked together for many years. First at a grocery/meat store they owned in the Tremont Avenue section of the Bronx, followed by a restaurant in Hartford. In retirement, they enjoyed cooking, baking, ballroom and square dancing. Christy predeceased her by 87 days. They were married 72 years and are forever together again. She is survived by her daughter MaryAnn Civitillo Lacorazza and her husband Vincent of Bridgewater, grandchildren Michael Lacorazza of Watertown, Jeanette Mallett and her husband Matthew of Waterbury, and Vincent Lacorazza of Bridgewater, her brother Joseph DiRusso of Morehead City, NC and many nieces and nephews In addition to Christy, she is predeceased by her brother, Enrico (Henry) DiRusso, nephew, Joseph DiRusso, sister-in-law, Chrisula DiRusso, brothers-in-law, Michael Civitillo and Edward (Ted) Giguere. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 20th at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Lakes, New Milford. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in New Milford in the spring. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, January 19th between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm.
