Obituary of Virginia Stanley

Virginia Ruth Stanley age 91 of Butte Nebraska, passed away January 3, 2017 after a long illness. She was the daughter of Adolph and Bertha Zapke, born in New Rochelle New York, on September 14, 1925. She attended Carmel High School. Virginia lived in Carmel NY, Danbury and most recently Butte, NE. She married William C. Stanley on June 12, 1971 and has two children by marriage, Alexander Stanley and Sarah Stanley Cunliffe. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Johns Manville Corporation NYC and was a member of St Joseph Church Danbury and Saints Peter & Paul Church in Butte NE. She was active with the Senior Citizens organization in Danbury and Brookfield and volunteered for a variety of non-profit agencies. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Stanley and her sisters Loretta McCord and Marion Heppner. Survivors include her son, Alex Stanley, daughter Sarah (Walter) Cunliffe, grandchild, Christopher Cunliffe and sister Evelyn Liewer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A private memorial service was held in Danbury with burial in St Peter Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Saints Peter & Paul Church, PO Box 8, Butte, NE 68722.
